I do like the fact that there is absolutely no need to spend any time doing LDoA, lucky/unlucky, treasure hunter and wisdom. Even though I did do nine rings enough to get the lucky/unlucky statues, I would've gotten 18/18 without them. My perma-pre will stay at lvl12, no need to max it. Death-leveling pain is not for me.

are titles merely cosmetic, or do they have an actual benefit to the character?

GW2 "titles", called achievements, without exception have absolutely zero gameplay effects.

I don't see any point in going past 30/50, cosmetic titles do nothing for me.

Looks like I'll be doing lots of nine rings for the first time this wintersday.

I'll need to save up a lot for the tokens thogh, currently I have about 50k lucky, and 10k unlucky points, so have some way to go for rank 2.

At this points everyone can achieve 50/50 just by regular gameplay. No rewards for more dedicated gamers sounds like populism to me, sry.

PS.and "yes", I feel personally harmed by dedicating high end minis :P

QQ: What a pointless waste of gold for those dedicating Kanaxais, Pandas and so on...
I'm thinking, glad I didn't waste any money on super expensive minis . Still though, it sucks that this at this point it really caters towards the casual players, and the rewards stop at 30 points. The ease of getting to 30 points will probably inspire account sellers to buy a lot of GW1 accounts right now, and get them to 30 points... when GW2 comes out, they'll sell the old GW1 accounts to the new players....

Also when you get to 30 points, it kinda kills any incentive to play any further :-/.

30/50 is only 60% of some pretty watered down stuff. Seems as if anyone who ever played GW for more than 10 minutes should get everything pretty easily. Extreme achievements like high pvp rank or GWAMM are completely ignored which is pretty typical of ANET. They should not put stuff in the game that they refuse to recognize imo. Only wild card was requiring an oppressors weapon which old time players on hiatus will log on to find they will need that. I'm 46/50 might as well scavenge around for the last four points today.

I've read through most of this thread, and done several searches, but cannot find the answer to this question:

I need one more PvP statue to complete my "Honor" section of HoM. I noticed that the statue for several of these can be placed in the HoM once you get to r3.

To count toward the Hall of Monument Rewards/Title, does the statue have to maxed, or can I just place it in there once I hit r3?

So how they should recognize amazing titles such as drunkard, party animal and sweet tooth?
Apart from obvious "hahaha, can you believe this guy?" comment.

Once you're able to record your achievement in the HoM, it counts!

I have a plan:

That much will be accomplish-able. I stopped at 16 titles, but have the vanquish and Eotn Slayers around half to mostly done so can finish them off along with kurzick / luxon and the elite area ones.

I dont need to waste time with cheese titles like party animal / drunkard / sweet tooth, so thats nice.

I really like this system! I think that it makes things attainable for casual players but still gives advanced players something to work for. I wish that there were more item rewards instead of just titles after the 30 mark. It seems like a big gap to just get two extra titles, especially when you'll most likely only display the highest level title.

I've been pretty vocal about the HoM and how unfair I thought rewarding titles etc was so I thought I should weigh in on the big reveal now that we know where we all stand.

I am ECSTATIC at how they have designed this. I searched my account and I had 28 points (not long ago I decided I wanted a rainbow phoenix for completion's sake and so I got easy titles and filled the mini pet monument - it was untouched otherwise) and I had a couple hero armours, mini pets and 20 Medals of Honour left over to put in getting me 31 points so I am now 100% accomplished for GW2.

I have to admit, I can't express enough how happy I am that ArenaNet put the bar where they put it. I was very concerned to get my Black Moa and Balthazar Gauntlets I would need GWAMM and all that nonsense. I am chuffed to find they listened to player's concerns and dropped off the rewards where they did. I read on GW2 Guru that the reason they did this is they wanted players to be able to get the maximum cosmetic reward without feeling like they need to obessively complete every single thing in the game whether they enjoyed it or not. I feel strongly the current design works well at being easy enough to achieve without massive investment or effort as well as rewarding most players for playing the game.

Kudos to you ArenaNet, you got this one right (too bad I won't be buying GW2 because of transmogrification stones - you got that one wrong).

Meh, 15 here and 1 sunspear armor from 16, then 6 minipets to 18.
I love anet, I really do. They are a cocktease though. Just take my money already!

Also dancing gnome, those stones are probably obtainable ingame as well as through the cash shop. But feel free to miss out on GW2 because of some misplaced thoughts
